The Venetian Harbor
Historic location with excellent architecture
The magnificent Venetian harbor of Chania was built by the Venetian conquerors from 1320 to 1356 and is the main attraction and the most picturesque part of the city of Chania.
The narrow alleyways with restaurants and taverns next to the waves, the beautiful architecture of the old town take us to another era, drinking our coffee while enjoying our food. Also, we can admire the “Faro” (lighthouse) built in 1570 by the Venetians and reconstructed by the Egyptians in 1830, or to take a wonderful carriage ride.
The Venetian harbor is 15 km from our Villa and you can get there by car, taxi or bus.
The Palace of Knossos
Knossos and the palace of King Minos are the most important archaeological sites of Crete.
The palaces of Knossos were built in 1920 BC. and were destroyed by an earthquake in 1700 BC.
The palace of Knossos was the political, religious, military, commercial and administrative center of Minoan Crete. Exquisite frescoes, findings of fine art such as jewelry, pots, utensils, figurines, the record of the Linear B signs found in Knossos are kept at the Heraklion Museum, one of the most remarkable museums in Europe. The exhibits include samples of 5,500 years, from the Neolithic period, Minoan civilization to Roman times.
All these are 150km from our villa and you can get there by car or bus.
Elafonissi
Exotic beach with pink sand and turquoise waters. Its idyllic beauty made it famous.
A small island 200 meters from the shore and between a shallow lagoon with transparent waters, blue-green, will remind you of exotic paradise. You will never forget the white sand with thousands of broken pink shells.
5 km north of the beach there is the Monastery of Chryssoskalitissa. The monastery is located on a rock reminding the fortress. According to tradition, the last step of the ladder that raises the monastery is gold, but only those who really believe can see it.
This paradise is located 60 km from our Villa and you can go by car or bus.
The lagoon of Balos
Unbelievable landscape, as if you are not on earth but somewhere in paradise.
Balos is famous for its turquoise waters, wild natural beauty and exquisite exotic scenery. The beach of Balos has white sand and exotic white, turquoise and turquoise waters. Balos is the most photographed beach of Crete.
It is one of the most beautiful beaches of Greece and the world and is 40 km away from our villa. You can get there by car or by bus.
